Thailand

Incoming passenger flights are suspended. Foreigners can’t enter or transit Thailand except in extremely limited circumstances. If you’re in Thailand and want to return to Australia, do so as soon as possible by commercial means. There are very limited flights out. A curfew is in place throughout Thailand between 10pm and 4am and some provinces have more restrictive curfews. You may be unable to travel between certain provinces. Hotels in some provinces have been ordered to close. Phuket International Airport is closed. Follow the Australian Embassy social media accounts for regular updates on flight options for leaving Thailand (see ‘Local contacts’ for links). If you’re staying in Thailand, follow the advice of local authorities and minimise your risk of exposure to COVID-19. Stay in touch with family and friends so they know you’re safe and well.

We advise you:

Do not travel to Thailand.
